My cat needs B12 shots. Where can I get vitamin B12 for cats?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 11 lbs

In the last few days my cat has become lethargic and lost his appetite. He has been eating lots but lost weight prior. My vet said he had a lump in his stomach and pronounced it cancer. Cat also had temp of 106. After giving cat Prednisone shot and pills as well as a mix and melodical cat has eaten excessively, drank excessively and has not had bowel movement. , But is still lethargic. Cat also had vitamin b12 shot which seems to be the best idea to me. Where can I get vitamin b12 for cats?

I'm sorry to hear that Mr. Cat is so sick! You can certainly give vitamin B12 injections at home if your vet agrees that this may be helpful for your kitty - this is a very common part of treatment for a variety of different problems, and is quite easy to do. Your vet will need to order it for you, since it isn't normally available over the counter. I'm not sure if you had any other questions about your cat's illness, but if so, feel free to post again and we will do our best to answer.
