Why is my cat having diarrhea accidents outside the litter box?

My cat had diahrea somewhere other than his litter box ? In the bathtub. What has gotten into him ? Why did he do this ? He's never done this. Pet's info: Cat | American Curl | Male | unneutered

cats will often have accidents outside the box when they have diarrhea, as they cannot always control it. if it happens more than once i would recommend taking him to the vet in order to get it treated.
