Why is my senior cat aggressive, in pain, and has a strange bump?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Chartreux | Female | spayed | 11 years and 10 months old | 20 lbs

My cat is about 12 years old. Indoor and outdoor. Whenever she poops she makes a small noise. Recently she got very aggressive when I'd pet her and she spent the day outside. When she was in my bed just now at night I felt a bump and I took a picture. It looks like a circular hole. It's red like dried blood but doesn't look like a bite mark. I'm absolutely terrified something is wrong and in need of advice/help.

Poor Kisa! I would agree that it sounds like something isn't right. Making noises when she poops is often a sign that this is painful or uncomfortable for her. Acting aggressive when being petted is also a common sign of pain, and it sounds like she has a wound of some kind. I would really recommend taking Kisa to the vet as soon as possible - he/she can clip and clean the area around the wound to help determine what it is, and will also probably start her on antibiotics and pain medication to prevent infection and make her feel better.
