My cat is limping, lethargic, has face marks. Was it a fight? ER now?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 6 years and 6 months old | 11 lbs

Hi - my cat is being unusually lethargic and limping in his front left paw. He may have been in a fight but no visible scratches or problems in leg. However he has some marks on his face and has had a crusty black mark just under his jaw for a few weeks. He is eating and drinking but not moving much and very out of sorts. Should i take him to hospital or wait til next week to see our regular vet? He is up to date with jabs and flea treatment etc. Thanks!

Poor guy. If he is limping then I would be concerned about an internal fracture or even infection. I would take him to the hospital right away because if an infection is present you want that treated right away. An infection is possible because of Raymond's symptom of lethargy. Also you want to get him some immediate pain relief if possible.

I would take Raymond into the hospital if you suspect he has been in a fight, especially if he is limping, usually lethargic, and has marks on his face. He could have sustained a cat bite that has hurt him, which will likely lead to infection and abscess. It's best to have him checked out now by a vet instead of waiting, so I think it's best to take him into a vet now.
