Is Piriton safe for my dog's scratching after flea treatment?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 11 years and 11 months old | 35 lbs

My dog keeps scratching even though she has been flea treated, no visible sign of fleas either. I have some piriton 4mg tablets previously prescribed by a vet for nibbling in between her toes. Would it be okay to give her some for a couple of days to see if it eases her scratching?

Yes, it should be OK to give her the Piriton, but bear in mind it doesn't always work for allergies, if after a couple days you do not see any change, you will probably have to take Honey to the vet in order to get something stronger that will stop the scratching.
