My dog has vomiting and diarrhea weekly. Why no stool? Is it serious?

Pet's info: Dog | Beagle | Female | unspayed | 27 lbs

We have a beagle mix for about two months. She is about 2 yrs old and has had stomach problems both vomiting and diarrhea about 1 time a week . She just ha d an episode of diarrhea and now will not pass a stool all day. She is on hill's I/D. Is this serious?

Occasional vomiting or diarrhea is not uncommon but you should monitor for any weight loss or reduced appetite that may indicate a more serious problem. A fecal screen and tests for intestinal and pancreatic function may be recommended if it continues
