Why is my puppy lethargic, peeing inside, warm, and whimpering?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Border Collie | Female | 4 months and 18 days old

Hey my puppy is 18 week old collie x jack russel. She wasn't herself yesterday and was quiet lethargic but still a bit playful, but she's been urinating indoors which she doesn't do normally. Last night she woke up and urinated in the room. This morning she won't move, is really warm and has no appetite. She's been whimpering quietly how and again also. Please help, thank you.

It sounds like she might be suffering from a urinary infection, you will have to take her to the vet, bring a fresh urine sample with you, a urine analysis will be done and if an infection is found- she will be treated with antibiotics.

Poor Riley! This behavior may indicate something like a urinary tract infection or even something like anxiety. Anytime a pet urinates in the house, a trip to the veterinarian is needed to check the urine for abnormalities. Other causes of discomfort can be back injuries and anal gland problems. The vet will check the areas for problems. I hope this is helpful and please feel free to post any additional questions.
