What caused my dog's sudden death, lethargy, vomiting, and not eating?

Pet's info: Dog | Boxer | Female | spayed | 2 years and 5 months old | 55 lbs

my friends dog just died suddenly.. they said just today he was not getting up, throwing up, would not eat drink or use the bathroom and very lethargic.. he was taking l-tyroxine 5 mg for his hypothyroidism. they are heart broken and have absolutely no idea why this could of happened.. they said the only time he got sick before hand was when her brother would leave for a few days..

I'm very sorry your friends lost their dog so suddenly! Without seeing him in person, I can't say for certain what caused him to pass away, but the symptoms you describe sound like he was extremely ill. He could have had a systemic illness not related to his hyperthyroidism that caused him to pass away. The only way to know for certain is to have a necropsy (an autopsy for animals) done on him to determine his cause of again. Again, I'm sorry for the sudden loss of your friend's dog.
