My puppy is vomiting, drooling, sick after eating yogurt. What to do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Siberian Husky | Female | unspayed | 15 lbs

Our 3/4 month old husky ended up with worms (she's been treated but I guess not enough). We can't get more worm medicine till next thursday so we were told to try pumpkin seeds and yogurt, she was fine until i introduced yogurt. Ever since she's had it she's started excessive drooling, runny stool, she's vomited once and it was white and mucousy, and she just seems very lethargic. Did I cause this by giving her yogurt and what can I do to help? I'm afraid I made things worse and hurt her

Unfortunately, it could be the yogurt causing Kali's symptoms. It's never recommend to feed your dog diary products, as it causes GI upset. You can try a home remedy before having to take her into the vet. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, she vomits the bland diet, the diarrhea continues on the bland diet, she stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, she will need to see a vet right away.
