My dog is sick, hot, has belly pain, and isn't himself. What's wrong?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Border Collie | Male | neutered | 2 years and 7 months old | 37 lbs

My 3 year old border collie isn't himself today, he's been sick this morning but now he's stretching his back legs like he has a pain in the belly. He feels hot I've given him some ice & put a washer on his belly & his head, he just keeps sooking & sleeping.

It sounds as Ollie is probably suffering from a gastrointestinal condition causing the pain and sickness, it could be an infection or something more serious such as a foreign body in the stomach or pancreatitis. You should take him to the vet today in order to get him checked and treated.
