My 7-month-old puppy hasn't had her first heat. Is this normal?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 7 months and 9 days old | 23.5 lbs

My puppy is 7 months old now and she hasn't started her period. I pretty sure she hasn't been in heat too. But I'm worried she'll start unexpectedly

You are correct that Panda could start going into heat suddenly, as female dogs can start their first heat any time after six months. If you don't bland on mating Panda, I would get her spayed as soon as possible.

That is very difficult to predict to be honest. She could get her heat anytime in the next 5 months or so or she could have got it already. Often the first heat has no signs at all or just few signs, that is why is difficult to say.
