My dog is terrified after fireworks. Why won't she jump or use stairs?

Hi i have a 3 year old female shar pei i took her in the garden last night for a wee before bed and a big rocket firework went off i gor her in straight away she was panting hiding near thw table and shaking she was terrified but simce this happend last night she wont jump on the ned or walk up stairs? I am worried this is not like her she loves jumping about and sleeping on my bed she wont jump on the settee either she ia walking slower than normal too

It may be instinctive to try comforting her, but that is counterproductive. Just go on as usual, giving her the impression that there is nothing to fear. You could try putting a treat on each stair (before her daily meal, so she is hungry). Each time she goes up a step to get the treat, praise her a bit. You can do the same with the settee.
