Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Male | unneutered | 50 lbs
My dog is a boxer/pit bull mix. He's 6 months old. His breath began to have almost like a fecal odor about 2 days ago. I see no decay or tartar in his mouth, no redness or swelling around the gums. There is no way he has been able to eat his "treats" they are scooped as soon as he goes. I'm nervous it's something deeper.

I would bring him in for an exam. There are related organ changes that can produce bad breath. Organ changes Ike be best evaluated with blood work and a good physical exam. Your dog is young so it limits my differential list. It makes me think more of something congenital or a basic nutritional deficiency

I still don't understand how anyone likes puppy breath! It has always just smelled like dog food and spit to me, lol. It is odd that there would be foul odor in such a young dog, so I can't say for sure what could be going on. Infection, loose teeth, trauma (such as biting an electrical cord) could be possible. I would recommend having your vet check out the odor.
