Why does my Maine Coon have scabs on his head after flea treatment?

My main coon 9 month old has had loose stools. Vet investigated for parasites, all clear. He's now on fish and grain free food. However he has developed scabs on his head and neck. He has been treated for flees and no evidence that he presently has them. Pet's info: Cat | Maine Coon | Male | neutered | 8 months and 16 days old | 10 lbs

This is probably caused by an allergic reaction. first of all make sure you de-flea Mםמאט regularly every month with a high quality spot on (ex. Advantage) as fleas are by far the most common reason for these reactions. If the fleas are not the problem, it could be an allergic reaction to food or an environmental factor. this is more complicated to treat and will sometimes require medications such as Steroids, anti histamines or cyclosporin in order to stop the allergy.
