Pet's info: Dog | Australian Shepherd - miniature | Male | neutered | 26 lbs
My dog got into a bag of bitter sweet chocolate and he is staying over night at an emergency vet to be treated with charcoal and fluids. They recomended that on the morning we pick him up and take him to our usual vet to be hospitalized there. If he seems to be doing ok when we pick him up and he is not vomiting in the morning do you think he would need more treatment still or do you think at that point all of the theobromine would be out of his system.

If it was a small quantity, usually no more treatment is needed and she can be ''discharged'' and come back home with you. That would depend on the toxicity that the chocolate provoked though and her clinical status tomorrow morning. Anyway, the answer would be yes theobromine will be likely to be completely out from the system.
