Why is my dog acting crazy, obsessive, and dribbling after peeing?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Bedlington Terrier | Female | unspayed | 2 years and 4 months old

Hi, I have a bedlington terrier that is 2 and a half, we have noticed that she goes through stages that when she urinates, she goes a bit crazy after trying to clean herself and is very obsessive about it for about 5 minutes like something is bugging her. This time I noticed that she was still urinating slightly, and in the past we have noticed droplets everywhere. Do you think she needs to see a vet? It's not a constant issue. We have another female beddie and never experienced this who is 6.

I strongly recommend a full health check, urine test and possibly an ultrasound scan of the bladder to rule out infection, inflammation or bladder stones which may be causing discomfort, partial blockage of the bladder neck and pain. The earlier these conditions are diagnosed the easier they are to resolve
