Pet's info: Dog | English Cocker Spaniel | Male | neutered | 10 years and 6 months old | 25 lbs
I have an English Cocker Spaniel with inflammatory bowel disease. He has started to drink a lot more and urinate more in volume and during the day and night. I was wondering if he was becoming diabetic. I want to dipstick his urine....I am a medical technologist.

Poor cooper. I would recommend taking Cooper to a vet for some basic blood work and urine test. You can use a human urine test at home to look for blood sugar/glucose. However sometimes the sticks are inaccurate in dogs. It is important for him to have a blood sugar tested to determine the actual value of his blood glucose. Hope that helps
