Is it normal for my puppy to reverse sneeze only once at night?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | 3 months and 15 days old | 3 lbs

After having dogs and seeing it in videos I’m 98% sure my puppy is reverse sneezing, however it only happens once at night for two nights in a row. Is that odd?

Congratulations on your new puppy! It isn't unusual. Some dogs just experience a reverse sneeze rarely... once or twice a day, or once a month or less! If this is the case and your dog is otherwise normal, there is no cause for concern. If the sneeze becomes something that happens throughout the day long term, an exam by your vet is needed.
