My cat's meows changed after puppy. Is it behavioral or medical?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 18 years and 2 months old | 9 lbs

Our cat has been making the craziest, high pitched meows lately. We recently got a puppy and are doing our best to balance giving all fur babies attention. Why are her meows different from normal? Thank you

It could be a behavior issue but because of her age you must rule out a medical issue such as hyperthyroidism for example, that can cause this symptom as well. take Sassy to the vet in order to have a blood test, if it is hyperthyroidism it can be treated with medications.
