My 4-month Quaker parrot has a red, swollen bottom. What to do?

My 4 month old Female Quaker is having a problem with her bottom. It's red and swollen and I don't know what to do. She still does poop but it concerns me. what does this mean and should I take her to the imediatly

Hello. Sorry Pearl is having this issue. Yes, I would take her to see the vet. That looks very sore and abnormal. It is hard for me to tell what may be going on based on the photo. It could be the beginning signs of a prolapse. It could be trauma or signs of parasite infection. Regardless, you need to get her to the vet for an exam so she can get the proper treatment. Be sure to use a vet that is used to treating birds. Hope this helps. Best wishes.
