The most common causes of coughing in a young puppy would be one of the following: congenital problems of the cardiorespiratory or cardiovascular systems, upper respiratory infections / inflammation, lung worms, or allergies. If this issues seems to become chronic and persistent, I would definitely recommend having Chocolate carefully examined by your veterinarian. They will be able to take a close listen to chocolate's heart and lungs, thereby making sure that everything sounds as it should. They can also do x-rays if necessary in order to rule out any of the common congenital structural abnormalities that can occur. Hope this helps.
