Why is my dog drooling excessively after a buprenorphine shot?

My 14yrs old chihuahua had a fall and after that, she tilted her head slightly to the side that took the impact of the fall, other than that, she showed no other signs of serious injuries. Worrying for her since it was quite a fall, I rushed her to the vet. The vet said she was having some concussion and pain, thus she was given a shot of Buprenorphine. She had since stopped tilting her head, but she's dripping saliva. Is it normal that after the injection, she drooled for several hours? Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Female | spayed | 13 years and 10 months old | 7.5 lbs
