Why does my Chihuahua have black specks on its skin that leave holes?

My Chihuahua has a little raised skin and it had alittle black specks all through it. Gave bath they didn't come off. Lightly took nails and kinda scratched and they actually came out leaving small holes in raised spot. What could it be? What do I do? Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Male | unneutered | 3 years and 8 months old | 8.2 lbs

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Without seeing Bandit it is hard to say. It sounds like these are like blackheads, or dirt in follicles. If so, a good sugar scrub for dogs should help loosen them. This is a common problem in Chinese Crested dogs. I hope this helps! Kisses to Bandit!
