My picky dog won't eat and is lethargic. What's wrong with him?

Hello, so my frenchie yoda is a very picky eater, he doesn’t like to eat the same thing for a long time, but there are some days he doesn’t eat at all. Almost 24 hours with absolutely no food intake. We give him dog food for one meal and like to mix it up for the other meal, like boiled chicken with pumpkin, different meats and veggies mixed. Some days he eats very little but I’m worried about the times he doesn’t eat and all and stays very lethargic and with almost 0 activity thoughout the day. Poor Yoda. When he doesn't eat is it usually the dog food that he is refusing or is it the homemade food as well? Some dogs will hold out for the people food if they know they will get that later. If he is refusing all food and seems lethargic then I would have your vet check him out to make sure he doesn't have a bacterial infection or a parasite. Some dogs don't like to eat a lot and this could be normal for him, but they aren't usually lethargic on top of it. So please watch him carefully.
