Is it normal for a black cat to get white fur? Should I be concerned?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Bombay | Male | unneutered | 2 months and 4 days old | 1lb

My black kitten has become seemingly more white- namely the back of her head, one or two prominent whiskers, and the full of her underbelly. She doesn't have any apparent health issues and she is an indoor cat. Is there a cause for the white fur on a black cat? Should I be concerned? Thank you.

So cute!! If she doesn't seem to have any other health issues and her skin looks normal then it is probably just a normal pigment change. Monitor for hair loss, scratching and/or excessive licking and have her examined by a vet if you notice anything abnormal.
