My 17lb dog was prescribed 10mg omeprazole. Is this dose too high?

My vet prescribed my 16-18lb dog one 10mg omeprazole once/day. I'm seeing a recommended dosage max as .25-.5mg/lb. Is 10mh too much for my dog?! Pet's info: Dog | Jack Russell Terrier | Male | neutered | 17 lbs
