My 17lb dog was prescribed 10mg omeprazole. Is this dose too high?

Pet's info: Dog | Jack Russell Terrier | Male | neutered | 17 lbs

My vet prescribed my 16-18lb dog one 10mg omeprazole once/day. I'm seeing a recommended dosage max as .25-.5mg/lb. Is 10mh too much for my dog?!

I can understand you wanting to check on this. This medication is dosed out at 0.5-1mg/kg rounded to the nearest 10mg. So this dose is appropriate for your pet and isn't too much. Tucker should be fine with this. Let your vet know if Tucker has any issues with the medicaiton prescribed or if his symptoms persist. Best wishes and take care.
