My canary's eye feathers are messy. Is he infected like his partner?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Bird | Unknown - Bird | Male

I had 2 canary birds, the female one passed away 3 days ago because of some kind of infection I never got to know since my parents refused to go to a vet. She lost feathers around her right eye and it got worse by time. Now I am starting to notice my male bird dodo, he has messed up feathers around his right eye, his eating and drinking is normal, his droppings are too. I am afraid that he got infected in a way I'm not sure, also he stopoed singing a while back when I first got him a partner.

It's very likely that he is suffering from the same infection. unfortunately if your parents are not going to take him to an avian vet specialist, there is a fair chance that his faith will be the same, if this is an infection he will need antibiotics to recover, which you can only get from a vet.
