Pet's info: Dog | Carolina Dog | Female | spayed | 4 years and 1 month old | 165 lbs
I noticed recently the top to the paws (knuckles) an increased redness, but NOT sores. Out of the ordinary. She isn't in pain. She is NOT licking her paws. She lives both indoors and outdoors. No changes in her routine (for the last 1 1/2 years) -- everything the same. She runs daily either on the beach, woods, park, dog run and frequently in a vineyard which may use both herbicides, fungicide and/or insecticides. Cause? Treatment?

It looks like Lillie may have a pododermatitis, or foot infection as there appears to be some redness and moisture in between her toes in the pictures. It could be secondary to trauma, but I typically see it in dogs with allergies. If she will let you soak her feet in Epsom salts for 5-10 minutes daily that may help but ultimately she may need to see a vet for treatment since oral medications are often much more effective. Good luck!
