My dog is having seizures. Could a bug bite or sting be the cause?

My dog has had two seizures in the past month while on a walk that have lasted around a minute. Before they happen, she starts panicking and biting at her tail. After the first seizure, I noticed a welt on her leg from a sting. Could it be a bug sting or bite that are causing these seizures?

We normally would not see a true seizure as a result of an insect bite. If your dog was very stressed then this can sometimes induce a seizure so perhaps the insect bite distressed her and let to the seizure in that manner. I would recommend an examination by a vet to do a neurological exam and bloodwork to see if the cause of the seizure can be identified and discuss if medication is needed.
