My Labrador has a red lump on his face that turned white. What is it?

My black Labrador who is almost 2, had a raised red lump on his face which has now turned white. What could this be?

in the first picture it looks wet and inflamed, in the second it looks dry and white, so i assume it was an infection that is on the right way to heal. keep an eye on it and make sure it does resolve completely eventually.
