What are effective blastomycosis treatments & success rates for dogs?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Female | spayed | 3 years and 3 months old | 70.5 lbs

What type of medication do you prefer to treat blastomycosis? And what type of success rate do you have with treating blasto? How do I know if I caught it early enough?

I'm so sorry that Maggie has been diagnosed with Blastomycosis. I have most commonly used Itraconazole, but there are other antifungal drugs that are used to treat it as well. Here is some additional information on Blastomycosis and treatments. https://www.veterinarypartner.com/Content.plx?P=A&S=0&C=0&A=2256 Unfortunatately without knowing specifics about Maggie's case I can't tell you about her prognosis and if it was caught early, but I can say that the drugs for Blastomycosis tend to work very well. I hope that was helpful. Thanks for using PetCoach. Good luck to you and Maggie.
