Kittens losing fur, limping, and scared: Do they need a vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | unneutered | 1lb

My kittens are losing fur on the backs of their ears. They act scared, jumpy, and cold. One is limping and is sleeping with his leg out stretched. What do I do?

The hairloss could be from mites or ringworm. Limping may be injury from playing or they may have other parasites coating them to become anemic. I strong recommend a vet visit for a full check up to see what may be wrong with these babies. Good luck and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
