My dog has blastomycosis symptoms but no fever. Is it blasto?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Female | spayed | 3 years and 3 months old | 70.5 lbs

Is it possible for a dog to have blastomycosis without getting a fever? Vets are unsure if it's blasto or bone cancer because it looks more like blasto but she doesn't have a fever.

While dogs often have a fever with blastomycosis, not all dogs do. It's also possible for the fever to come and go. Hopefully you are waiting on some testing for blastomycosis that should give a definitive answer - if not ask your veterinarian about testing a urine sample.
