Pet's info: Dog | Labradoodle | Male | neutered | 8 years and 9 months old | 45 lbs
My Labradoodle had what appeared like a sebaceous cyst or lipoma that ruptured under the skin. This resulted in a discolouration of the hair and skin. It does not bother him, but my vet was at a loss. Have you ever heard of this.

Hi and thank you for submitting your question on Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Sometimes discoloration of the skin can occur due to inflammation causing more cells responsible for pigment to increase their production of pigment (melanin) in the area along with cells responsible for inflammation and healing. The skin during this process may turn a different color-often appearing darker than it was before, but once the lesion has fully healed, the skin should eventually go back to it's typical normal color. I hope this helps clear this up for you! Best of luck to you and Baron.
