Can I add chicken broth to my dog's kibble? Is dry food enough?

Can i put chicken soup on dry food? And can my dog eat only dry food without eating fresh good as chicken or meat or vegeg.??

I would not add chicken soup to her food as there is a lot of salt in the broth. You can add canned dog food to her diet for variety. I recommend using the same brand as the dry dog food you are feeding. Safe human foods are boiled chicken and boiled beef but canned dog food has the proper balance of vitamins and minerals.     Yes you can but just low sodium chicken broth would be better. With the noodles and chicken added it is going to take her caloric intake too high if you do this continuously. Obesity in pets is a huge problem and with her being so young you don't want to get her overweight. Broth alone is very low in calories and dogs still enjoy the flavor. So, yes you can but I would do it sparingly. Hope this helps.

It is fine to use some of the chicken broth for flavoring on dog food. Just make sure there was no aggressive seasoning or excessive salt used. The best broth for dogs would be non seasoned or low salt broth. Also you would want to skim out the fat if there is a lot of it or let it set up in the fridge first so you can remove the larger fat layer. Giving cooked chicken is also no problem as a treat. Just make sure the majority of the diet is dog food as that is made balanced for dogs. I hope this helps and thank you for using Boop by Petco!

Diamond dry food is fine to feed. You can use low sodium chicken broth to soften the food. Apply the broth and just let it sit on the food for about 5-10 minutes before feeding to allow it to expand the food before she eats it. Hope this helps. Best wishes.

I was feeding my dog fresh food chicken rice vegetables etc and i changed to dry food ony from 3 months after taking your advice and getting convinced with it but know soska i dont find the happiness that she was showing when i was feeding her freash
The dry food is more nutritionally balanced but you can add things to it to make it more exciting. You can add any of the above ingredients you use to feed her in her fresh diet. I would advise to only add one at a time (ie...one day its peas, another day chicken, another day carrots) so that she doesn't get use to it. You can also add warmed chicken broth, a table spoon of a canned dog food or the ground up loaf type dog foods like Fresh Pet. You can also feed diets like Fresh Pet as they are fortified to include all the micronutrients that Soska needs. I hope I have answered your questions. Please post again if you think of any more!

My dog will not eat her food is it doesn’t smell like human food. I’ve been putting beef broth in her food but I’m consern about her sodium intake. I was curious is this was a good solution. Or should I switch to pedialite.
Thank you for contacting Boop by Petco with your question about Belle. You can use a low sodium beef broth, but she really should be eating her dog food alone. I would keep decreasing the amount of beef broth you put into her food until she is eating the dog food alone. She really should not be having it, so it's best to try to wean her off of it. The problem with bouillon cubes is that they are VERY high in sodium. 1 cube has almost the recommended amount of sodium for a human for an entire day! So, I think you are going to have to find another option long term. There are a number of companies that are making "gravies" to put over dog foods. There are also companies that are making "toppers" to add to food. I would recommend going to your local pet food store to see what they carry and trying a couple of options to see what Epic prefers. You may also consider changing foods or adding something like a dehydrated dog food to his diet (like The Honest Kitchen) in case he needs a little variety. Good luck! I hope that was helpful. Hi there. You could get some canned food and mix a small amount with her dry food to give it more flavor, and encourage her to eat it - this works well for many dogs who don't always like kibble by itself. Alternatively, you can soak her kibble in a small amount of low-sodium chicken or beef broth before feeding, to soften it a bit and make it taste better.

Onions can be bad but broth is diluted with other flavors so there is not enough in that amount to be a problem. Chicken broth is a better alternative to use. You can also try baby food as it has more flavors!

Hello. I do not think there is anything that gives us more pleasure than cooking something special for our pets. There is absolutely nothing wrong with adding a little chicken, brown rice & sweet potatoes or pumpkin to her kibble, as long as the majority of her diet is the dog food. Dog food companies go through some rigorous testing to make sure a diet is healthy & more importantly, balanced, which is almost impossible to do with a home cooked diet. No, it's a good way to increase fluid intake. Try not to change foods too often It can lead to gastrointestinal upset and may make him even more finicky. Stick with one diet. If he gets "bored", keep feeding it. He will eat when he gets hungry. Be firm. Consider a more strict feeding schedule since some dogs thrive on routine.
