Today I noticed Pete looked like he was trying to chew something or like he might have a piece of food cought in his teeth or between his teeth and cheek he was drooling a lot on the right side I tried to get a look and he won't let me see. I managed to sneak up on him and as long as I didn't reach for him he stayed put I got a glimpse of his mouth on the side it looks messed up but now he's hiding what should I do? Don't see any blood

You should have Pete examined by your veterinarian. There may be periodontal disease, infection or foreign body causing the symptoms. Sedation may be required to examine him fully. If it is periodontal disease, a complete dental cleaning may be indicated. This will require anesthesia and Pete may need extractions.
