My cat had a flea bath yesterday. Can I put Seresto collar on today?

Yes, you can absolutely place the Seresto collar on Figgy after a flea and tick bath. If you are still seeing live fleas, it may also be worth giving him a dose of Capstar, which will kill the adult fleas quickly, providing a bit of relief. The Seresto collar will then be able to provide more lasting flea prevention. I hope this helps and that all goes well!

    Hello, thank you for your question about Jumi. Yes it is safe to put the Seresto collar on him now. One of the challenging aspects of flea preventatives is that in order for many products to work the flea has to bite, this is when they are exposed to the active ingredient and this leads to death. Therefore, just seeing live fleas doesn't mean the product isn't working. A very important part of the treatment of fleas is treatment of the environment. I would recommend purchasing a carpet shampoo that is specifically designed to help with flea treatment. If the collar does not treat all of Jumi's fleas I would recommend contacting your veterinarian to discuss the need of an additional flea treatment, such as Capstar. This helps to quickly kill any adult fleas on the cat. Hope this helps, good luck!

Cats are exquisitely sensitive to flea medication, so I would not put the Seresto collar on Willow just yet. Wait at least two weeks, then apply it. You can give her Capstar now. It’s a one time pill that starts killing fleas and is safe to give. I hope this helps!

I put Frontline Plus on my cat 6 days ago. However, the fleas didn’t go away. I gave him a bath yesterday with Dawn dish soap, but the fleas immediately came back. I just went out and got a Seresto collar. Can I put it on my cat now?

Wait about two weeks before putting the Seresto Collar on Oliver. Then it should be fine, In the meantime, check him every day for ticks and when you find a tick, remove it. This should tide you over until you can put the collar on him. Don't forget to vacuum your house often and put flea powder in the vacuum cleaner bag so the vacuumed up flea eggs and larvae will get killed. Make sure you vacuum all areas Oliver has access to.

To be safe, you should wait 2-3 weeks before switching to a Seresto collar. IN the meantime, treat the environment for fleas. Vacuum everywhere then dispose of the vacuum bag or empty the canister outdoors immediately after. Wash all bedding in the hottest water allowable by fabric. Use an area treatment, such as Indorex or Knockout ES, to kill fleas in the home. A majority of the flea population actually lives off the pet, hopping on to feed then hopping off. Discuss a product to kill adult fleas with your veterinarian. CapStar would be safe to use even if you applied a topical preventive. However, it will only kill adult fleas that are on Tybalt.

Hello. 1. The collar can be put on immediately after the Frontline is done. 2. Dead fleas fall off the pet or may be groomed off. Cats are very efficient at doing this. 3. Fleas prefer to spend their entire lives on a pet, but this does not mean one may jump off its host onto someone else. Once a tick attaches, it remains there until it is full of blood or detaches to move to another host or dies. 4. The Seresto collar has no odor nor any residue that comes off. My two house dogs & house cat all wear this collar. I love them. 5. Repel means to keep or force away, so the Seresto collar discourages fleas & ticks from setting up on a pet. You will need to go to the Seresto website. There may be recommendations about bathing or drying times. You may need to remove the collar for a certain amount of time. Certainly you want to avoid any potential interactions, you will need to ingredients of the shampoo handy. Best of luck.

Giving Sentinel or Capstar will not interact with the Seresto collars, so you do not need to take them off before giving those medications. It will take a little time (a couple of days) for the collars to start working again while the medication spreads from the collar onto their skin, so go ahead and put them back on. If you are still having problems with fleas, be sure to talk to your veterinarian. Hello and thank you for contacting Boop by Petco. You should not apply Seresto collar on a wet dog, so as long as they are dry now it is ok to put the collar on. Please, note that it takes about 24hrs for the collar to fully work. Side effects to Seresto collar are uncommon, but please monitor your dogs for signs like excessive skin itching, local hair loss on the neck, red, inflamed skin around the neck.

It is ok to use Seresto along with other topical products, just not oral ones. In some pets there can be a little skin irritation, so watch out for that and notify your vet if this happens. Otherwise, you should be fine to go ahead with Seresto to see if this does the trick. I would also recommend using a flea fogger to treat your home, which can be found at your local Home Depot or Lowe's. If you still don't have good results with the Seresto collar, then I would wait at least 2 weeks and consider better products such as Simparica or Nexgard. Hello. Yes, absolutely you can use both, but since the collar lasts 8 months, remove it for a week after you reapply the Frontline Plus. Then you can safely put the collar back on. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.
