Chihuahua's back legs are weak and painful. What can I do at home?

Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Male | unneutered | 2 years and 2 months old | 5 lbs

My chiuaiua acted as if he was sore yesterday got up this morning and it's like his back legs are paralised he can hold himself up for a minute but then wobbly falls he's eating no fever but if I touch his back feet he yelps please tell me what I can do at home to help him I haven't got enuff money to take him to the vet

Hi and thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Sorry to hear about Gadgit. Many things could be wrong and unfortunately you can't really do too much at home. The best thing would be is to take him in to your vet and let them get a thorough history, physical exam, and then advise some diagnostics for him which could include fecal tests, blood tests, urine tests, or x-rays to start with. The causes of this could be many including spinal/or hing leg problems from trauma, disc disease, infection, inflammation, anal gland problems, generalized weakness, fever, body aches, dehydration, etc. Your vet can advise a treatment plan once the above is performed. I wish you good luck but there really isn't much you can do at home if he is in this condition.
