My cat won't use his claws to hold on. Is he lacking reflexes?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 4 months and 23 days old | 3 lbs

Why does he have no reflexes? I can literally hold him in any position high up and he won't hold on with his nails he's paws are always soft he never stocked his nails out to hold on to me only when he plays he will stick out his claws he won't use his nails to hold on to me nomatter how I hold him even if it's in a position where he could fall he will just purr the whole time not a care in the world why is this?

I would think of the fact that Beans does not use his claws on you as only positive. It means he overrides his reflexes due to his trust and love of you. Beans would normally use his claws to stead himself, but instead due to your close bond he trusts you will hold him and stop him from falling. This is a wonderful sign of a strong bond.
