My vet said no mixing dry and fresh food. Is that true for dogs?

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Female | unspayed | 8 months and 13 days old | 59 lbs

A doctor told me that a dog cant eat dry food and fresh food on the sam day and that i should choose weither to feed my dog dry food only or fresh food as chicken meat veget. Etc.? I need to know if he is right or wrong

Well, technically, a dog can eat a whole bunch of things on the same day! But the better question is SHOULD they eat all of those things. I prefer my patients to be an a commercial dog food for 90% of their caloric intake. This ensures that they are taking in a balanced diet. When you start to add chicken or vegetables to their diet and feed less of the dog food, they may not be taking in the correct amount of vitamins and minerals that their bodies need. It is also very easy to feed too many calories if you add these foods to their normal dog food.
