My dog has a scab on a green bump. Should I be concerned?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | neutered | 1 year and 1 month old | 58 lbs

I noticed something that felt like a very small scab on my pup while petting him. I looked at it and it was in fact a super small scab but the scab was on top of a bright green bump. Should I be worried or take him to get it checked out immediately?

The green bump is a pustule (pocket of puss). This is not concerning if there is only one. If there are more than one I recommend having Judge seen by a vet (non-emergent) for oral antibiotics. If it is just the one, keep the area clean and dry with mild soap and water. You can also put antibiotic ointment on. Good luck and kisses to Judge!
