I just found a what looks like wound by my dogs foot. Does anyone know what it can be? We are in the middle of traveling around the western part of the US. Thank you!! Worried mom :(

Hi there. Not sure how the wound occurred but it is definitely a wound! I would not be too worried just yet. It does not look infected. I would suggest you put some topical Neosporin or other triple antibiotic ointment on it and keep it covered with a telfa pad (no stick pad) and a thin layer of vet wrap: https://www.walmart.com/search/?query=telfa&cat_id=0 https://www.walmart.com/ip/No-Hurt-Wrap-Tan-1-Inch-X-2-2-Yard-Stretched-Sticks-to-itself-not-to-skin-or-hair-By-Nexcare/839269982 You can use DILUTE peroxide (1:1) to clean it but only use it once! If you keep using peroxide every day it will delay healing. Hope this helps. If you have more questions feel free to post again! Take care!
