Pet's info: Dog | Pug | Male | neutered
My dog has been having bad allergic reactions, the vet recommended one Claritin a day. He took a Claritin early this morning but I was wondering if I could now give him a Benadryl for relief. He cannot stop itching and his paws are bleeding.

You can give Jagger the benedryl too; but I would recommend calling your vet tomorrow. He may need stronger medication for his itching. And if his feet are bleeding he may have a secondary infection that may require antibiotic or antifungal medication. Antihistamine's can help somewhat with allergies in dogs but many times are ineffective and additional medication is needed. I hope Jager gets some relief soon. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
