Why is my dog throwing up, not eating, and not pooping for a week?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | unspayed | 1 year and 8 months old | 30 lbs

My dog has been throwing up but not eating anything. We give her food such as dog food or meat but she just still won't eat. She has been acting like she wants to eat and play but she never does. She has been depressed, she is throwing up a lot, she doesn't want to eat, and she hasn't been pooping. We gave her laxatives but she still hasn't pooped. This has been going on for about a week. What is causing this and what should I do?

I am sorry to hear Blackie isn't feeling well. I would be very concerned about a GI foreign body. I recommend taking her to a vet ASAP for an exam and radiographs. Even if she is drinking water, she is not drinking enough to combat the vomiting and is probably dehydrated. Please do not give any more medications as you may be making things worse. Please take her to a vet right away! Good luck and kisses to Blackie!
