Can a UTI cause enlarged organs, bad spine, and dilute urine in dogs?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

My dog has enlarged spleen, heart, and liver. He has very dilute urine. His spine is real bad. His hips have pressure on them. His blood work is normal. Can a uti cause all that?

I am sorry to hear about Jack. A urinary tract infection would not cause an enlargement of the spleen, heart, or liver. It would not affect the hips or spine either. The dilute urine could be related to the urinary tract infection. I would recommend an ultrasound of the abdomen and the heart to further evaluate these enlarged organs.
