My mini pig keeps eating dog food. Is it safe for her health?

I have a mini julianna pig and we have mini pig food for her but she keeps trying to eat dog food is that ok?

Dog food won't be formulated to Sprout's nutritional needs, so no I would not allow her to eat the dog food. Keep the dog food away from her, and just feed her the mini pig food. I hope this helps!

Pigs should be fed a specific diet, such as in this case the Mazuri mini pig diet. I would recommend following the guidelines on the bag for your pig's particular size and weight. In addition, supplemental food can be in small quantities. I would not recommend pupy food for adult dogs unless absolutely no alternative is available. Puppy formulas tend to be higher in minerals and proteins for growth and are richer than recommended for regular maintenance diets

Hello! Cats have higher protein and fat requirements, which is why their food is so much tastier than dog food! It's not a good balanced diet for dogs, so I would recommend that Seibella eats at least 80% formulated dog kibble for her nutritional needs to be met. You may want to try a different brand of dog food, or keeping the cat food out of her reach so it is not such a temptation. I hope this helps!

It won't hurt him, so I wouldn't be that worried. There is nothing in cat food that would be toxic to dogs even if they ate it on a regular basis. The big difference between dog and cat food is the nutrient profile. They require different nutrients in different quantities, so a dog would eventually have nutritional deficiencies if they only ate cat food, but it's perfectly fine for them to have a little along with their dog food. I would just avoid letting him eat too much, because he can eventually become overweight. I hope that helps and all is well with Red.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Kevin. I would not give the pork for several reasons. Sometimes pork can be a bit fatty. This can make a dog prone to a condition known as pancreatitis. The disease can be triggered by high fat foods and is characterized by vomiting and diarrhea. Next, puppy food is designed and balanced to support growth. If he is eating pork, he will consume less puppy food. This has the potential to affect his growth and development. Hi.. Hope you are doing good:) Mini has stopped eating her dry food.. She is eating only rice with chicken or veggies or egg.. Is it okay if I just feed her these things? Also which leafy greens are safe for her?
What Mini has done is train you to feed her what she wants, when she wants it. Her present diet is neither healthy nor balanced. To get her back on to dog food, start transitioning her back to her kibble. Each day, decrease the amount of chicken/veggies/egg and increase the amount of kibble. Prepare her food at the same time(s) each day. Dog thrive on routine. Leave her food down for 30 minutes before picking it up whether she has eaten or not or even if she has picked out the table food. Do not feed her anything else between meals. Be firm and be consistent. She will not starve. She will eat when she gets hungry and sees no table food is forthcoming. You can mix in some warm water to stimulate her appetite.

Grundy is eating the leftover kitten food before I'm able to get it the bowl off the ground. Will he be okay?(it is happening constantly) and how can i correct this?
It is unlikely that the kitten food will hurt Grundy but it could cause diarrhea or weight gain. You should move the kitten food to an elevated area so that Grundy cannot reach it. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.

There should be an AAFCO statement on your dog food bag indicating who the food is made for. As long as it states “formulated for all life stages “ then it is fine to feed to the puppy.
