Hello, thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. While I usually use either gabapentin or tramadol, either one can be safely used with the prednisone. But tramadol can be used in conjunction with the gabapentin and a non steroidal anti-inflammatory medication ( or pred ) for chronic pain conditions. Take care.

They are all difgerent classes of drig so can be taken together. However tramadol and pred can be hard on the stomach so I would keep a close eye for GI signs such as pain, vomit or diarrohea. Often it is good to give omeprazole to protect the tummy when using such strong meds.
