We rescued a kitten today from a home that wasnt the greatest. When we got her home and during her bath I notcied a pretty big mass under her stomach by her hind legs. The mass is egg shape and dnt seem to be painful to the touch. She also has no hair loss in the area.

That little kitten is certainly lucky that you rescued her. A mass or swelling under the stomach could be a number of things in a kitten. You didn't mention how old she is, but sometimes we see odd mammary gland development in kittens. Kittens can also have a couple of different types of hernias. The most common is an umbilical hernia that can be surgically repaired when she is spayed. There are some less common things that it could be as well. If the area seems to be enlarging, painful, bruised or changing in any way, I would have it evaluated immediately. Otherwise, I would have your vet evaluate it when you take her in. I hope that helps. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
