How to give pills to a dog with pancreatitis not eating or drinking?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Female | spayed | 10 years and 8 months old | 61 lbs

I took my dog to the vet today and they figure she has pancreatitis. They gave us some pills for her. She yelps when even try to put a little water in her mouth because she isn't eating or drinking. My question is how can we get her to ingest her pills with her being so sensitive?

Poor puddin, it sounds like she may need to be hospitalized for pain medications and intravenous fluids and medications, force feeding is not appropriate if she is that distressed and she is unlikely to recover without medical intervention. Contact your vet for a recheck and possibly admission
