My dog has a red lump on his genitals and hates the vet. What to do?

Pet's info: Dog | Pit Bull Terrier | Male | neutered | 70 lbs

My dog has a dark red lump growing on the side of his genitals...it just appeared within the last couple of days...not sure what to do my dog doesn't do very well at the vet so if their is any way you help identify what this could be and give advice that would be great ...thanks

Hello there and thank you for your post! From the pictures you have posted, it the red blood blister like mass you are seeing is most likely what we call a hemangioma, which is typically benign. However, hemangiomas can turn into hemangiosarcomas that are cancerous. I would recommend having this removed if possible to prevent this from progressing. If Gizmo does not do well at the vet, you can ask if they can provide you with an anti-anxiety medication / sedative to administer prior to an appointment to get this looked at. I hope this helps!
